TCI’s Expansion of Cold Chain Capacity to Support NCR’s Growing Demand

Before the city wakes up, its supply chains are already at work. Along the KMP and Dwarka Expressways, temperature-controlled trucks move steadily through the early hours, carrying everything from fresh food and dairy to life-saving pharmaceuticals. In the National Capital Region, where speed, safety and precision are non-negotiable, cold chain infrastructure forms the quiet backbone of everyday life.

As demand across NCR continues to surge, driven by quick commerce, consumption-led industries and stricter compliance requirements, logistics networks must evolve to keep pace. Recognising this shift, TCI has strengthened its cold chain footprint with the addition of a 1.5 lakh sq. ft. temperature-controlled warehouse at Taj Nagar, Gurugram, a location fast emerging as one of the region’s most critical logistics corridors.

A Location Chosen with Purpose

The choice of location was no accident. Strategically positioned between the KMP Expressway and the Dwarka Expressway, Taj Nagar offers seamless connectivity without heavy vehicle restrictions and uninterrupted 24×7 truck access. For businesses operating in time-sensitive environments, this translates into faster turnarounds and smoother distribution across Delhi, Noida, Faridabad, Ghaziabad, Gurugram and Jaipur.

As quick commerce and high-frequency consumption models gain momentum across NCR, Taj Nagar has naturally evolved into a hub that supports efficient regional and last-mile distribution.

Designed for the Realities of Modern Supply Chains

Inside the facility, every detail reflects the realities of modern supply chains. Operated by TCI Cold Chain Solutions Ltd., a joint venture between TCI and Mitsui & Co., Japan, the warehouse has been designed to handle complexity with precision. Multiple temperature zones - frozen, chilled and air-conditioned, work seamlessly to support a wide range of products. From QSR and quick commerce to pharmaceuticals, dairy, meat, food and beverages, beauty, life sciences and specialty chemicals, the facility caters to industries where consistency and control are critical.

Flexibility is built into the operation. With handling models such as Box-in Box-out, Unit-in Unit-out, and Pallet-in Pallet-out, along with a pay-as-per-use commercial structure, customers can scale operations in line with seasonal demand and business growth—without compromising efficiency or compliance.

Technology, Safety and Sustainability at the Core

Safety and sustainability aren’t add-ons here; they are built into the foundation. A 500-KW rooftop solar installation supports energy-efficient operations, while modern refrigeration systems and SCADA-based monitoring ensure real-time visibility and control across temperature zones.

Safety is reinforced through VESDA panels for early smoke detection, over 600 CCTV cameras, and a fully gated, access-controlled campus. Ample truck parking further ensures smooth inbound and outbound movement, minimising congestion and delays.

Moving Forward, One Shipment at a Time

With over 16 million sq. ft. of warehousing space managed across India, the Taj Nagar facility marks another milestone in TCI’s journey to build future-ready logistics networks. More than just an expansion in capacity, it represents a commitment, to reliability, sustainability and enabling supply chains that keep cities running.

As NCR continues to grow and consumption patterns evolve, TCI’s cold chain infrastructure works quietly in the background, ensuring that every shipment arrives exactly as it should - on time, in condition and with care.
