Demonstrating community spirit and corporate social responsibility, Transport Corporation of India (TCI) recently held its annual blood donation drive, collecting over 1,500 units of blood across more than 45 cities. This annual drive, which took place from 11th to 30th September 2024 this year, honours the legacy of the company’s Founder, Shri Prabhu Dayal Agarwal Ji.

Fondly remembered as Shri PD Ji, he was the pioneer of the Indian transport & logistics sector and is known for his compassion & unwavering commitment to social causes. While his influence on the logistics and supply chain industry has been profound, his commitment extended far beyond business to health, education, sports, rural development and women empowerment.

For TCI, this blood donation drive is a heartfelt tribute to our beloved founder who dedicated his life for the well-being of the communities we serve.

The need for blood donations is ever-present, with hospitals and healthcare facilities constantly seeking to maintain adequate supplies for patients in need. Communities associated with the Transport & Logistics sector faces extra sensitivity to timely availability of live saving blood due to higher than average workplace injuries.

TCI's this blood donation drive plays a crucial role in bridging this gap of supply and demand, ensuring that those in critical need receive timely assistance. By mobilizing resources and raising awareness about the importance of blood donation, TCI is making a significant impact on public health.

This year’s drive saw enthusiastic participation from TCI employees, associates, and partners, with a strong showing from both men and women. The drive was conducted in various cities, including Chandigarh, Hisar, Varanasi, Bengaluru, Ahmedabad, Gurugram, Jaipur, Mumbai, and many more.

The enthusiastic participation from all TCI partners and employees, serves as an important reminder of the power of community involvement. The overwhelming support strengthened our commitment to foster a culture of giving back. Each donation embodied not just a unit of blood; but a potential to save 9 lives, a symbol of hope for multiple families facing medical emergencies.

This is the true legacy of Shri PD Ji.

More than an annual event, this is a movement inspired by compassion and care. TCI's commitment to social causes, particularly in public health is a demonstration that businesses can play a pivotal role in societal betterment. As TCI looks ahead, it will undoubtedly continue to honour the vision of its founder, contributing to a healthier, more compassionate society for all.
