National Safety Council of India (NSC), an autonomous body set up by the Indian Government to engage the public and meet the challenges in the arena of safety, health and environment issues, organises National Road Safety Week in India every January.

TCI Foundation along with Society of Indian Automobile Manufacturers (SIAM) observed “31st National Road Safety Week” from 11th to 17th January, 2020 at 20 locations across India through free health camps and awareness activities on Road Safety for drivers and conducted eye check-up camps at four different locations. All camps were organized at halt points.

As a theme is chosen each year for the one-week long initiative, the theme for this year was “Sadak Suraksha - Jeevan Raksha” which aimed at making India’s roads safer and closer to becoming an entirely accident-free zone.

Based on the multiple recommendations of the Motor Vehicles (Amendment) Bill of 2019, people were made aware about the rules and regulations that have been laid by the Government of India. Also some awareness activities like health games, street play, and quiz competitions were organized to motivate them & educate on various health issues.
