At Transport Corporation of India Limited (TCI), we are proud to lead the charge towards a more sustainable future in logistics. Our dedicated efforts to implement green logistics practices have not only reduced our environmental footprint but also set new benchmarks for the industry. Here’s how we’re making a difference:

Multimodal Logistics: Reducing Emissions and Enhancing Efficiency
Approximately 30% of our consolidated revenues now come from multimodal logistics, which integrates rail and coastal transportation. This approach significantly reduces our reliance on road transport, cutting down on emissions and improving overall efficiency.

Rail Transportation: A Green Alternative
We have increased the movement by rail by 25%, demonstrating our commitment to utilizing greener modes of transport. This shift has earned us 184,000 eCO2 Tonnes Green Points from the railways, highlighting the environmental benefits of our strategy.

Renewable Energy: Powering a Greener Future
In the last financial year, TCI generated 15.9 million renewable energy units, a testament to our ongoing investment in sustainable energy solutions. These efforts are crucial in reducing our carbon footprint and supporting India's renewable energy goals.

Embracing CNG: Cleaner Last-Mile Deliveries
Our fleet now includes over 2700 CNG vehicles, which are instrumental in reducing emissions for B2B last-mile deliveries. This adoption of alternative fuels is a significant step towards cleaner and more sustainable logistics operations.

Green Warehousing: Innovative and Eco-Friendly Solutions
We are at the forefront of providing green warehousing solutions that incorporate eco-friendly practices. These include using green materials for warehouse construction, implementing solar rooftops for energy generation, and recycling initiatives. Such measures not only reduce power consumption and electricity costs but also significantly lower greenhouse gas emissions.

Pioneering Sustainability: The TCI-IIMB Supply Chain Sustainability Lab
In partnership with IIM Bangalore, we established the TCI-IIMB Supply Chain Sustainability Lab, which has just completed its first year. This lab focuses on innovative solutions to enhance supply chain sustainability and has successfully launched the TEMT tool. By collaborating with corporates and startups, the lab drives green innovation and helps us stay at the cutting edge of sustainable logistics.

Our Commitment to India's Net-Zero Goals
We are aligned with India's ambitious target of achieving net-zero emissions by 2070. Our comprehensive sustainability initiatives reflect our dedication to contributing to the nation’s long-term climate goals.

At TCI, we believe that sustainable logistics is not just a necessity but a responsibility. Our ongoing efforts to integrate green practices across our operations underline our commitment to a healthier planet and a more sustainable future for all.
